Hi list, I finally managed to get the bad temp sender out of my car. I replaced it with a new one but the gauge won't work. When I short the sending cable the gauge works fine. What could be wrong? I

Is there some ground contact not being made at the temp sender? Do you use teflon over the screw threads of the temp sender when mounting it into the engine block? This might cause insulation causing
