It depends. If the points are open, then yes, you should have 12V at the + side of the coil. If the points are closed the balast resistor will drop the voltage to somewhere around 6V. Peace, Pat - Su

Thas sounds strange to me. If the voltage on the + coil terminal is zero, then I don't see how the car could run at all. You need some voltage on the + connection to build a magnetic field in the coi

Hey Stephan, Okay you mean when the car is turned to on you measure 0 volts or when the car is cranking?? IF the ignition is turned to off or acc you shold not measure anything. I am pretty sure the
