The rear of the car seems like the most logical place to gain a protected area, and still maintain emergency crew access. Plus they would have a pretty good idea where to look on each and every car.

Doug & list, It is my impression that the switch must shut down everything. Even with a mag, a fuel motor can run on detonation, if the trans is in gear the wheels can be turning - not a pretty site.

Every pro car I have ever worked on the first thing we usually do is turn the battery off.. Does not matter what you are doing if it does not require the battery on it is shut off . Same with trailer
