You're lucky! Removal is a snap. There are two brackets (each) that hold the speedo and tach in the dash. They should be held to the speedo and tach by wingnuts. Remove those, remove any cables, then

I don't think this applies to the flat dash Roadsters. I had to remove the tach in my '70 and that was a much more difficult job, requiring removing the bolts holding the steering column to the dash,

I agree, it's not necessary to remove or loosen the steering column to remove the tach or speedo. It may be easier but not necessary. I would suggest removing the steering wheel however so it's easie
