The one that has worked for me on two or three occasions is: "I wasn't overtaking traffic" Of course, that's only because I hadn't reached that traffic yet when I was pulled over, but it did work. OT

The only time I used a line and got away with it: Going 80+ in a 55 just north of Springfield, IL. Went under an overpass and there they were. The pull over vehicles were pulling the cars into a rest

I firmly believe that it's color also plays a part. I've been stopped much more often in red cars than blue and green, even though it's the blue & green ones I drive like a nutter. Randall 59 TR3A T
