Just got my 1956 BN2 back on the road, after about 6 months of not running. And I had forgot about the never ending cooling problems I have had in the past. Where do I start? New radiator cap? The on

The 7 lb cap is right. I suggest you have the rad rodded and cleaned. Maybe move up to a higher efficiency rad instead. I have a used Hayden stainless steel flex fan available if you are interested

I have put on the higher output 'hot climate' Fan that was a factory option when new, added Redline Water Wetter, and about two thirds water and one third coolant, the BN1 still heats up when sitting

The BN1s and BN2s have more than sufficient cooling capacity to keep your car running cool under most circumstances (its the 6 cyl cars that have cooling trouble). Anyway, if your car is running hot
