The replacement boosters specced for the MGC are the same as the replacement one used on the Austin Healey 3000. It is also suitable for use on other LARGE single line cars, such as the Jaguar Mk II

That's your best bet. You can play with pad compounds if the pedal effort appears too high. Typically high effort and poor braking is due to the rear brakes not being adjusted anyway. Kelvin.
