The brake lights aren't working on my '79 B. We tested all around and have come to the conclusion that the wire is bad somewhere between the switch and the lights. What's my best option, just running

Just my opinion; others may have better ones: Run a new wire. By the time you've bent and twisted the loom enough to find the break, you will have probably introduced another dozen potential failures

Putting the multimeter on the brake switch and looking for continuity may give u a false positive depending on the ohm range selected. Best to disconnect the two wires at the brake switch and feed on

If you *definitely* have 12v on the bullet of the green/purple of the rear harness where it connects to the tail from the brake light switch, and *definitely* don't have it on the bullet of the green

Wife traveling behind me noticed brake lights weren't coming on on the 67BGT. Checked bulbs, OK, checked grounds.OK. Took wires off brake switch, put em back, Voila! brake lights on, then no more. T

Yeah, I just did it, and didn't seem to get any air in the brake line. In my case the symptom was that I had to press extremely hard with both feet to get the light to come on. -- Max Heim '66 MGB GH

I have successfully done that a couple of times on my 65 MGB. I had my fingers crossed. There was very little seepage but apparently just enough to prevent air getting into the system. Kelvin.
