I have just had my MGA 1500 engine rebuilt. The machinist says to start the engine quickly and run it for 20 minutes at 2000 rpm. That is fine except that the car sat for 15 years before I bought it.

On new bearings the "impact" of the firing stroke is in a particular area of the bearing. Towing the car will put the initial stress in another location. I am not sure if this really makes a differe

I totally agree that the engine must be running to properly break it in. But this brought back a interesting memory on a motorcycle engine I rebuilt about 10 years ago. It was a '65 Honda CA95 engine
