Dave is right, an AMP is an AMP no matter where you are. I think the confusion comes from the AMP rating of fuses. I believe that the Brits rated fuses with a different "blow" rating. ( I will get in

I'm not sitting anywhere near my Midget at the moment, but I had a fuse in my hand last night, and ( from my poor memory ) there was a paper in the tube that said '17 amp' while elsewhere it said 30
