- Does anyone know how to de-code old British license plates? Such as the "HNX 455D" on the orange Sebring Sprite? Don't the letters and numbers identify year and location of first registration? Dean '

- The first three letters indicate the county where the vehicle was first registered. The letter at the end of the plate tells you the year of registration - in this case, 1965 if my memory serves me r

- Hmmm. I don't recall anything like that from back in the late 60s. I lived in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire from 1965 thru 1970 and had a number of different cars. Each had totally different letters
