In 25 years of working on cars, I've never had an "easy out work" ! Usually, they snap off, costing even more money to remove!

The "easy-out" works best when you drill most of the broken stud or bolt out. Pick a drill size that will roughly take the bolt down to the threads (almost). Be sure to drill perfectly in the center

Ditto that. The “easy-outs’” are hardened steel, and you can’t drill them out for an “easy-out-easy-out”.

I found this out rebuilding the front end on my Tiger. A bolt snapped in the crossmember when I was removing the lower arm. Then the easy out snapped. I thought I was up the creek... Some one told me

I also has the same bolt snap. I tried center drilling in preparation for the famed easy out. I didn't get the hole perfectly centered and gave up before I broke something else. A local machine shop
