I have a Spridetech bonnet on my race car (which, despite Flounder's recent feeble attempts at retaliation, I have been told looks quite good). I'm currently fastening it with bungee type rubber tie

FWIW, you might also consider using bonnet latches from a Truimph Spitfire/GT6 for a "classic" look. I used a set on my Bugeye bonnet (steel). I think they look better than exterior clamp latches. Y
