Hi Bruce, With nothing in fourth, which is a straight lock up, no gears to drive through, you may have something kaput in the clutch department. Might not be the tranny at all. Wouldn't that be good

OOPS, Forgot to mention that you may also have a broken axle, The rumble sound was the clue. That may be from the rear end. Start the engine, with the parking brake set, put the tranny in gear, then

That would be my guess too. If all the gears went at once, check to see if the drive shaft is turning, if it is, you snapped an axle, if it is not, it's tranny time. -- Frank Clarici Toms River, NJ B

be sure to eliminate all other causes before you buy another tranny. Check u-joints, drive shaft end plate bolts, diff and half shafts. You can do this in 5 minutes and it will cost you nothing. Mik
