Probably a small bit of 'crud' preventing closure of needle valve at top of chamber. Often clearable by a couple of sharp 'raps' on float chamber. HTH, Dave

You may either have some crud holding the needle off its seat, or you may have a float that is leaking. Pop the cover off of the float bowl an take a look at the float. If it is brass, order a repla

My '69 1600 came with brass floats. Lots of them! Most were in a box and some of them still had gas inside of them. First tune up I went to plastic ones that I got from Ross. That was 1996. they are

The air in the floats expand and contract with temperature. The brass floats work harden and crack after doing this for a while. The plastic ones just flex a bit and do not work harden. I've done a f

In more than 38 years of (almost daily) roadster driving, I never experienced a sunken float -- original brass. Changed to plastic in a carb overhaul last January, and they're still working!! Dave
