The cable is a standard brake cable from a bicycle. The ones from a mountain bike will be a little thicker than road bike cables but I don't think it matters. The cable will come in a package of gene

Chris I use the brake cable from a bike but I also use (and prefer)1/16 aircraft cable that most hardware stores sell. In addition you will need 2 of the lead cable ends. I go through at least 1 a ye
