I believe you will have to get a smog check one time when bringing it in plus some lame fee for "eviromental impact"but after that pre 73s don't have to have them again(unless someone changes the law

I think our lbc's get around the environmental impact fee in CA because almost all the cars sent over here had the same equipment whether they were Federal or California. The easiest way to find out

Well, that may be true, but you would still have to pass an emissions test if your car was 1973 or newer, in order to register it in California, or sell it to someone who would register it in CA. A

I believe it is 74 or newer that must be smogged. 73 and prior are exempt. At least I hope so, I'm taking my 73 in for registration this week. Nick
