When 1 & 2 are on the rock, they are between the exhaust phase and the intake phase. The cylinder doesn't fire for another 180 degrees (on the cam, 360 on the crank). Clear as mud? Peter '68 TR250

Tim--The British have their own way of wording the instructions, don't they? When #11 and #12 valves are "on the rock" it means both intake and exhaust valves are partially opened, and feeler gauges

I know that the book does not seem to make sense, but it is right. However, the better way to set than cam timing is to use a dial indicator and a degree wheel to get the cam timing perfect. If you
