- The throttle and choke cables, spindles and springs are entirely independant, on a twin SU MGB at least. And you shouldn't have to put a bend in the inner to keep it secure, many have stranded inners

- Yup! That's what I was trying to say; you said it better! Same on my "H" type carbs with the long levers and links. Make sure the holes for in levers various attaching points are not enlarged. Again
