Yes, which gear you are in is also car dependent. For SCCA courses (not AAS): "Courses must be tight enough so that cars run the entire course in their lower gears. Speeds on straight stretches shoul

According to the info I have ('94 through '98), that is correct. The details are somewhat interesting. Mazda kept the same gear ratios in the 5-speed tranny from '94 to '98 (and maybe later but my da

The gearing got 5% shorter, and the wheel size got 7% bigger, but those only cancel if you drive on your rims. The difference in nominal size between a 185/60-14 tire and a 195/50-15 tire is about 0.

Not that I want to start another debate about Miata specifications, but I can't help myself. My '91 redlined at 6500, and my '01 redlines at 7000, but both had/have rev limiters at 7250. What's your

Is that right? Well, so much for the folks on Miata.net who tout the free-revving nature of the 1.6L engine over the 1.8L. I had seen the redline of the 1.6L quoted as 7500. I should know better, of

According to the specs for the AVS Intermediate on Yokohama's web site, that tire makes 910 revolutions per mile in the 185/60-14 size and 913 revolutions per mile in the 195/50-15 size. Which yields
