What do ya'll use when you're trying to clean up rubber gaskets...like the ones behind turn signals and such. You know...they get kind of dried up crud on them? I think I've used acetone in the past,

Beth & Ken, If the rubber parts are in good order, I use ArmorAll. It cleans the dirt etc. makes them look like new.If the gaskets are cracked, I would get new ones. Bob Labuz 1958 TR3A 1974 T140V

I don't use Armorall on leather either. However, the things I do use it on are so old and deteriorated that there is never any possibility of "dissolving waxes in the rubber that protect against UV"

I think I've used acetone in the past, but figured I'd ask if Ken, I have used paint thinner... not as strong... followed with some simple green. Works if the parts are still soft. Brian Sanborn '62
