If the clutch plate is centered all you need to do is rotate the shaft back and fourth a little. It should just slide right in. That's easy to do if both the engine and the tranny are out of the car,

Why not put the transmission in gear and use the tail shaft to turn the input shaft. Easier than turning the engine. Are you sure the input shaft actually fits the clutch disk? Regards, Lew Palmer Be
