Our coil has been mounted horizontially for several years. The last location was on top of the pedal box. It never occurred to me that it would be a problem...and it hasnt seemed to be. Joe Alexander

I'd be a little careful with the "oil letting". The older transformer's oil was very high in PCB's and pretty carcinogenic. - Tony
