Use a really long pair of bolts, and screw the bottom plate up with the long bolts, compressing the springs as you go. Once the plate is flush with the A-arm, use 2 short bolts on the other two holes

I keep hearing about this "long bolt" technique and just don't quite understand. If you can trust your floor jack to raise a car that has 4 springs, why not trust the same jack to raise an a-arm that
