In the San Diego region, we do have a supply of green cones. Some events mark the apex with the green cones. This can help some of the novices. But lately they have just been mixed in with the orange

The AZ Region has used the colored cones for a few years now. Green is used for apexes (or apex areas, using more than one sometimes). The green is a standout in the occasional "sea of cones" courses
