I have made my own top for a boat (Not all that different) and what I can tell you is that you MUST have a commercial sewing machine! Even a heavy duty Home type Singer machine will not do the job A

Your suggestion isn't nearly as far-fetched as one might think! Personally, I like it. Mostly vinyl, some fabric. It would require more maintenance (replacing vinyl) but has merit. If only I were to

You surely can get used to the wide, open spaces. When we did Alaska last summer, we only put the top up on Barney's MGA on five occasions. The longest duration was three days -- for the trip up the
