I believe the axle housing for the wire wheel cars is a bit narrower than that for the solid type, and the axle shafts are shorter to suit. I think the axle shafts from a solid wheel car are too lon

The axle shafts are shorter on wire wheels but they do fit and work fine under normal street driving conditions.I have converted 2 to wires from disc by just swapping out the axles, hubs and rotors.

Hi frank, I'm very glad to hear this as I was just getting to that point. The PO put wires on the frogeye. I noticed from my parts that the are in fact about a 1/2" shorter. Thanks you saved me a lot

It is correct -- the wire wheel banjo (diff housing etc) is narrower than steel wheel version. The half shafts are shorter on the wire wheel car. You need the housing, half shafts for the rear. For t
