I have a spare gearbox for the '3 and it appears to have the bent shifter. What do I look for to confirm the model it belongs to? The seems not to be a serial number on the side like the '3 box. Than

I don't recall all the minor variations at the moment, but the two major ones are the introduction of synchromesh on 1st gear ('TCF' TR3B/TR4), and the shorter input shaft introduced during the TR6
