My 91 Ford Escort uses a similar type of U clip on the rear shoes; can be purchased in a kit of 4 pins and 4 clips. There is probably no reason why you can't use the spring and cup style hardware. D

mark 1 heater control valves are cheap and everywhere, if i recall right, around $35 (try Sundbeam Specialties or Classic Sunbeam, or ebay all day long) but mark 1a/2 style are hard to come by, but p

If you are going to use a Honda valve, don't buy the original Honda model. It's expensive and works backward. As I recall, what you want is the NAPA replacement that is made for the Honda. It's cheap

Good call on the brake shoe clips, they are exactly the same size. The pins are about 1/8" longer but I had those already. BTW, I bought them at Napa Online for $3.99 + s&h. Thanks again, Joe Parlan
