- you can run a Crane with or without a ballasted coil depending on application. Your best bet is to call Crane Tech. (phone their product best with respect to your specific set-up, Cap'n. Bob '60 :{)

- Hello Phil, the recommendation to call Crane tech was spot on.. i have an older version of the XR 700 and it says you MUST run a ballasted coil, or rather that the coil has to have be at least a 3 oh
