I ran DOT 5 for a year in a '78 Corvette that I did a complete brake replacement (rotors, calilpers, lines, master) and never got a very filrm petal. I finally went back to Dot 4 which cured the prob

DOT 5 is more compressible, somewhat "spongier" feel. If your not reallly the car hard, it is probably fine. It is lower maintenance and you don't have to worry about it's secondary function as a goo
