While we are on this subject of old and new fluid, any suggestions on how to get rid of all of the DOT3 fluid in the systems? Is it blown out or pushed back thru the system?? Thanks for the help. Tom

The steering rack is not sealed at the ends. Assuming that you have oil in the rack, there is also oil in the boots. IF your boots have deteriorated or split, chances are you've lost most of the oil

When I bought my B the DPO's had let the boots go until they were nothing but rubber discs hanging on the tie rod ends - seriously! I found that on my rack ('77 B) that there is a small access cover
