Here in the South West of the USA, it is common, especially in older cars (new ones seem to have more sun resistant materials... and they are newer!) to have the top surface of the dashboard to crack

I just put a hard plastic one in. It was perfectly molded and now the dash looks brand new. I would think carpeting would look kind of tacky. David Oliner

There is a manufacturer that produces a plastic cover which slips over the top portion of the Midget dash. As far as I know, they are available only for the later model dash tops and I've only seen

It covers just the padded area between the dash and the scuttle, the top most portion of the dash. (If that is what is called the padded crash-roll edge). Often this part of the dash is cracked beyo

Guy Just to bring you up on US vs UK Midgets, our dashboards incorporated the crash pad as part of the dash in 1968. All one piece. UK Midgets didn't do this untill 76 I believe. -- Frank Clarici Tom

Difficult, Cap'n, when the UK cars don't have the plastic cover to apply the ArmourAll too! Even the latest of the UK cars just have the narrow edging to the dash - more like the original Bugeye arra
