best recommended fluid for the carbs? SU recommends a 20 wt oil yet I've heard Automatic Transmission Fluid is good and brake fluid is what I put in mine based on a couple of good mechanics I know.

Paul, there is a great deal of room for personal preference here. Mine is for heavier oils, 40 weight works pretty good for me (and is what ST recommended for the TR3 in warm climates). I'd suggest

Paul, I agree with what Randall has said regarding personal preference as far as dash pot oil goes. I would also suggest you lean towards a thicker oil - I use a 50-50 mixture of 40 weight and ATF. I

-Got my own question in response to Brian's suggestion to use 40W. I use Marvel Mystery oil. One of my carbs loses the oil in about a day. Is this a problem with the carb or the oil? Thx, Joe Donovan
