Just thought I'd see if anyone has heard of this, on my 62 Mk2 948, carbs seem to be the original HS2's as far as I can tell. The damper caps aren't black, they are a "dirty white" color, part number

My aging memory is not as reliable as it once was, but I seem to remember the caps on my '61 Morris Minor were whitish. Kate

I have a set of dirty white dashpot caps too. And they came off a 948 with HS2s. Maybe a transition from the brass to the black. -- Frank Clarici Toms River, NJ

over the years i have seen caps wich seemingly once were black wich have faded to a grayish color(or possibly the "dirty white" you describe?). oils? heat? or some amazing parts cleaner ? i'm uncert
