- Yes, I have Paul's instruction sheet with the recommendation, but just wondering if anyone had any experience with anything else. From the responses from the list, synthetic is unanimous. Mike MacLea

- Sounds like the cheap way to go too, but it gets over 100F frequently here in San Bernardino in the summer time. I guess for the summer I would have to go with a heavier wt. oil. Mike MacLean 60 Spri

- Factory manual calls for 2 1/2 pints of GL-4 gear oil. For temps from -20F to 100F 80W-90. I've used synthetic and didn't like it in warm weather freeway driving. It go so the synchros would barely w

- Using synthetic in winter, petroleum in summer. Better synchro action with the petroleum gear oil BTW. Cap'n Bob '60 Frog
