This is an easy one! Just reverse the wires on the instrument regulator and it will be fine. Not related to this problem, but just as a heads up, make sure that the case of the regulator is grounded

FWIW, that didn't do it for my gauges. I was getting the pulsed 7V average output, but reversing the regulator leads turned it from a "rise-to-1/4-then-fall" gauge to "no indication at all" gauge. -
