You think the *fan* is anemic? Wait till you experience the "half-dead hamster breathing through a straw" non-blast of non-heat which is all the motor puts out at anything below 40 degrees ambient. Y

Let's put it this way. As much as I appreciate preserving the lineage of the vehicle, I'll install a woodstove if I have to, and with the roof off there'll be decent ventilation. I froze my butt off

It is common for the heater core of an MGB to become plugged with a whitish chalky deposit that will severely restrict delivery of heat to the passenger compartment. It is not hard to remove the core

Actually, if the thermostat isn't opening eventually (not likely if it's driven far), the radiator isn't in the picture. Put a higher temp thermostat into it to get the coolant in the block and heate

As well as checking the water flow, check the fan wiring as well. Try reversing the connections at the fan - one way gives much more blow than the other. Try blanking off various amounts of the grill

OK, you're right about the radiator. But I have a 190 degree thermostat (they don't come any higher than that, do they?). The issue seems to be that the air flow around the engine keeps it below 190

The heater may be better than it appears. Try reversing the two electrical leads to the motor. One way blows a lot more air than the other. In my '72, the better way is not what appears to be correc
