It's "just" possible the floor under the seat is rusty from some toppled growler or two. Check that the regulator and battery are as well grounded as you are. Why aren't you driving the TD? Peter

...this occurred to me with my '67 Beetle. Turned out to be a bad cable/wire going to the voltage regulator under the left side of the rear seat. Cap'n. Bob '60 :{)
