Advantages of turbo: easier to develop more top end boost and power boost is 'free' - it takes no power from the engine to produce it compact turbines are easy to place anywhere in the engine compart

Thanks for all of the replys The reason I asked is that next year BMW is set to produce a 165 HP super charged MINI. This year's model will have 90 HP. Same engine in either case. I did not know if a
