Vance-Did you use the seal puller with the pinion in place? If my memory is functioning, it seems like the space is limited by the pinion. I have attempted to use a seal hook and sliding hammer, but

Vance--I have one of these seal pullers that you refer to. Every pinion seal I've tried to pull (four) have not responded. These seals were pressed in too tight and the metal surround too thin. They

Another way that I've had great success in removing seals has been to put a couple of screws into the seal and then to use a small slide hammer to pop the seal right out. I've never had it fail yet.
