Light bulbs have a constant current characteristic. If you run that 1446 bulb at 14v it will still draw only .20a. So it shouldn't get any hotter than the 1449 at 14v. There is no single voltage spec

You're right. The current won't be constant as you increase the voltage drop across an incandescent light bulb. It's still I=E/R but R is a variable within certain limits. Charley

I just looked up the current vs voltage on incandescent lamps the other day at work. You are right, the lamps are not linear nor are they constant current. Just somewhere in between. Chuck Schaefer

I think I have figured it out. I was pulling some of the lights behind the dash on my Healey and came up with a #52 lamp (the bulb is the glass part, the whole thing, base and bulb is called a lamp).

The GE small lamp catalog actually lists all the information from voltage to current draw to candlepower. While I'll admit that most car accessories are listed as 12V when we are really dealing with

I went to the local NAPA dealer on Wednesday. The counter person was kind enough to go through the GE lamp catalog with me. We looked at every lamp with a screw style base and found none rated at 12v
