This may seem like a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway. Wouldn't all dipsticks made for a ford 260/289/302 protrude the same amount into the oil pan? The reason I'm asking is that when I put

Just an update. I ran the engine to get oil in the filter, oil cooler and oil lines. Then I let it sit for a couple of days to make sure the block was empty of oil. Next, I drained the oil out of the
