Can anyone out there tell me anything about disk brake conversions? Like specifically should one also replace the rear drums with larger ones to maintain balance? Has anyone tried Kevlar pads/shoes?

If you are converting to disk brake front end, then I do think you should use the MkIII/IV rear brakes as well and the MkIII/IV master cylinder. I have the Cabon/Kevlar pads and shoes (from Speedwell

Riley or Wolseley big back drums will fit with some fiddling. Although Riley is original equipment aftermarket (so to speak) you cannot get the slaves or slave overhaul parts. Fit them without a bias

I agree with Mike but would add that if you run more front brake you can run more back brake and stop even quicker. More back brake for me, means bigger drum assemblies. This way not only can I stop
