Because it isn't spinning. I have got almost everything back in place on my 5 month clutch job, and today hooked up the battery for the first time. The engine turns over, gas gets pumped to the carbs

Are you sure it doesn't turn? There may be no spark but that doesn't mean it doesn't turn. It's impossible to put it in 180 out if you didn't take out the distributor drive gear from inside the engin

I haven't seen this on a roadster, but have on an old air cooled VW. When you put the distributor back in it is possible that you didn't get the drive tang on th ebottom of the distributor mated with
