If you have an airtight tank then you will experience fuel starvation. I think the stock TR4-4A gas cap has a 2" o-ring to seal the cap. My tank has a vent tube (originally a banjo bolt, now a hydrau

The TR4 gas tank was vented, while the TR4A tank was not. Therefore the TR4A cap was vented, or you _will_ suffer fuel starvation. I mistakenly used a TR4 (unvented) cap a few years ago. As I recall,

Yes. TR4-4A caps vent; on the inside of the outer cap is a spring loaded compression disk that seals the filler pipe. There is a tiny vent hole in disk that requires attention occassionally by sticki
