Is there any dissadvantage to cutting the bulb off? I'll take a look. My main concern is that the heater air box thing will rot out, or that water will get in and rot the floor. It's a 1978 MGBGT. W

AFAIK the "9" is the temperature rating. My mini runs 6, but some racers use 7. Can't remember if 9 is hotter or colder than 6. Colder I think...ie: longer nose. Anyone confirm? Scott ** This email

What I meant was the SUPPLY to the charge light was live with the key out. The light sits between +12V and the alto regulator circuitry. The light lit with the key out (due to a blown diode) but on

Strange. Must be incorrectly wired then. I have noticed that the PO had bodge'd on an extra fuse bridging fuses 1 and 2. The strange thing is the radio etc does switch off when the key is out. Time

The spin-on filter for the B is a relatively common item, in the US at least. It is the same as for 62-80 (approximately) Chrysler V8s, for instance. Don't know about any "modern" cars. scott beavis
