On the roadster, I was able to get at the rivets by removing just the cap rail and rolling the window all the way down. I'm not sure if the GT doors have the same cap at the top of the door's interio

Almost certainly. You will have to undo the pivot at the bottom of the frame to get the opening part of the window out of the frame, and on both mine the bolt had corroded badly and snapped. Special
