It appears that you have to be part of some sort of "clic" to have your experience count for anything on this mailer. I guess I'll take my 20+ years of wrenching and my 12 second Tiger and go home. P

I agree with Theo. I have less than one year experience with a Tiger, and definitely will listen to someone that has 20+ years experience. (especially if they have a Tiger that runs in the 12's!) Kee

Theo has it right, this is a free-sharing forum. What I don't understand is what led up to Dave's aggravation. I am something of a packrat and have kept this list's emails all the way back to Sept. 1

Assuming you fix the problem that's killing your engine over 5,000 rpm, let's look at the best recipe for quick quarter mile times. Let's say your motor, after it's fixed, gets a maximum of 350 HP @

Bob, interesting point on the shift points. I understand having the revs in the sweet spot, but how did the 80% come about. If I have the stock motor and cam from the 90 5.0L, and its max hp is at 52

The 80% value comes from the ratios in the transmission and is really different for each shift, and depending on what transmission/gears you have. I have an article that covers this on the TigersUni

Just to be clear about the 80%, that's just my personal "comfort level", that also allows for some margin of error, which is bound to happen, even with a rev limiter. But it's more the concept I'm t

I'm not sure about the 80% part but I did see an explanation about shift points. You need to look at your engine's Torque Curve and you need to know what the RPM change is for each of your transmiss

It's interesting that this kind of mis-information is so pervasive. The torque curve is definitely not what you want to use to pick the shift points, although there seems to be a fair number of peop

I guess we just have to hope the engine builder, or whoever sets the redline, knows what he's doing. ;-) I think where the rabbit gets lost is between the engine and the rear wheels. It is certainly
