The remote switch takes less physical effort (none), but it's harder to make the engine stop at exactly the right place. It's rather "hit-or-miss". With the wrench you have more precise control, but

As others have said push it yourself in 4th while watching the rockers (I assume you are using the 'rule of nine'?). I push/pull using the top of the RH front wheel - you get double the leverage and

Well, I suppose it's good exercise if you don't like hiking. ;^) I use a remote starter switch to bump it around until 8 is open and adjust 1, and so forth. Ya don't whirr, whirr; you bump it a bit.
